The Jiangnan of Tibet — the Peach blossoms Valley in Linzhi, Namcha Barwa Snow Mountain and the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, gentle yet magnificent.

Nyingchi, known as Linzhi in Chinese, is a prefecture-level city in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China. Often called the 'Switzerland of Tibet,' it sits at an average elevation of about 3,000 meters, making it one of the lowest and most verdant areas in Tibet. The city is named after the Nyingchi River, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo. Historically, Nyingchi was part of the ancient Kongpo kingdom, and its culture blends Tibetan, Monpa, and Lhoba traditions. The region is famed for its pristine forests, dramatic gorges, and sacred mountains, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness that attracts travelers seeking an off-the-beaten-path Tibetan experience.
Nyingchi covers an area of approximately 117,000 square kilometers and has a population of around 230,000. It administers one district (Bayi) and six counties. The region is home to the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world, and Mount Namcha Barwa, the highest peak in the eastern Himalayas. Nyingchi is also a major producer of Tibetan medicine and fruits, and its airport, Nyingchi Mainling Airport, is one of the highest in the world.
