The imperial garden and the prayer hall in one gentle day
Full dayBeijing
From $155 per group
Two parks, two imperial philosophies: the Temple of Heaven where emperors negotiated with the cosmos, and the Summer Palace where they relaxed after. Together they bookend what Beijing's imperial era felt like — duty and leisure.
The plan
- 08:00 Temple of Heaven — Hall of Prayer, Echo Wall, morning tai-chi crowds
- 11:30 Transfer north (about 40 minutes)
- 12:15 Lunch near the East Gate
- 13:30 Summer Palace — Long Corridor, Kunming Lake boat, Longevity Hill
- 17:00 Return to hotel
Good to know
The Long Corridor's 14,000 paintings change as you walk — ask your guide to point out the favourites. Surfaces are flat throughout; this is the easiest walking day you can give your parents.
