Mutianyu Great Wall Half-Day Tour

Mutianyu is the choice of people who have seen a photo of Badaling's queues. Restoration is faithful, watchtowers are dense, and the ridge views are the ones on the calendar covers. Early entry turns it into a near-private wall.

Good to know

Stairs are steep but the 14–20 stretch has rails and shade. Toboggan riders must be over 1.3 m tall (children ride with a parent on the cable car both ways). Winter visits are crisp and empty — layers recommended.

Itinerary

   Hotel pickup

   Leave Beijing early to beat the tour buses to Mutianyu.

2. 08:30
   Cable car up

   Ride the cable car to the wall and walk the quieter restored section.

3. 10:30
   Toboggan down

   Ride the toboggan down the mountain — the fun way off the wall.

4. 12:00
   Return to Beijing

   Back in the city by noon, afternoon free.
