Yading Nature Reserve Half-Day: Pearl Lake & Sacred Peaks

This half-day tour is designed for travelers who want to see the heart of Yading without committing to a full-day trek. You will be picked up from your hotel in daocheng, drive to the reserve entrance, and take the scenic shuttle bus to Zhaguanbeng. From there, a gentle uphill walk through conifer forest leads to Pearl Lake, a bright emerald pool reflecting Chenresig Peak. The morning light is usually best for photography, and you will have time to rest and take in the views before returning by lunchtime.

• 07:30 Hotel pickup in daocheng city area
• 08:30 Arrive at Yading Nature Reserve entrance, take shuttle bus to Zhaguanbeng
• 09:00 Walk the forest trail to Pearl Lake (about 40–60 minutes uphill)
• 10:00 Free time at Pearl Lake for photos and rest
• 11:00 Walk back down to Zhaguanbeng, shuttle bus to exit
• 12:30 Return to daocheng city area

Good to know

The walk to Pearl Lake is at an altitude of about 4,100m, so take it slow and drink water. The trail is well maintained but includes some stairs; comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This tour does not include lunch, but your guide can suggest a local restaurant after returning to daocheng. The reserve entrance ticket is valid for the day, and the shuttle bus route may vary slightly depending on weather and park management.
