Emeishan Tea Culture & Local Snack Walking Experience

This 3.5-hour experience is about taste and everyday life, not monuments. You start with a guided tea session in a small local tea house, learning how Emei green tea is picked, pan-fired and brewed. Then you walk through a neighborhood market and snack street with your guide, sampling a handful of Emeishan specialties along the way.

It is a relaxed, food-focused half-day that pairs well with a morning at the Golden Summit or a free afternoon.

Sample itinerary

• 14:00 Hotel pickup and short walk or drive to a local tea house
• 14:15 Guided tea tasting: learn about Emei green tea, watch a brewing demonstration and try 2-3 teas
• 15:15 Walk to a nearby neighborhood market and snack street
• 15:30 Taste 4-5 local snacks, including bobo chicken, sweet-skinned duck and leaf-wrapped rice cake, with explanations of each
• 17:00 Drop-off back at your hotel

Good to know

Please tell us about any food allergies or dietary restrictions when booking, and we will adjust the tastings where possible. The walk is mostly flat and easy, about 2-3 kilometers in total. Vegetarian options are available at most snack stops, but some traditional items contain meat or chili.
