Leshan Giant Buddha Day Trip from Chengdu

Two ways to see the Leshan Giant Buddha, and most tours make you choose. Ours does both: first the river boat that frames all 71 metres in one glance, then the cliff-side staircase down between the Buddha's ears to stand at its toes.

Good to know

The cliff path is steep with narrow steps — fine for most, not ideal for limited mobility (the boat alone remains spectacular). On national holidays the descent queue can exceed 90 minutes; your guide will re-sequence accordingly.

   Drive to Leshan

   Private car from Chengdu, roughly two hours on the highway.

2. 10:00
   Buddha by river

   River cruise for the classic full-height view of the 71-metre Buddha.

3. 11:30
   Cliff path descent

   Descend the cliff path for a close view of the Buddha's feet and details.

4. 13:00
   Riverside lunch

   Local lunch near the river before the drive back.

5. 17:00
   Return to Chengdu

   Arrive back at your hotel by late afternoon.
