Trip Overview

Chengdu is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, but the real flavors hide in wet markets and hole-in-the-wall eateries. This route takes you to Yulin Market at dawn to learn spices, into local-favorite 'fly restaurants' at noon, to People's Park for gaowan tea in the afternoon, and to hotpot and chuanchuan at night. Two days of ma-la goodness — even locals will say you know how to eat.
