Chengdu: a city that turns everyday life into Art
Hometown of Giant Panda, UNESCO-certified capital of Food, a Ancient Town that has kept its name for three thousand years, home of West China Hospital — to you who are planning to visit China: why Chengdu deserves to be the first stop on your itinerary.

Why does the whole world want to come to Chengdu?
As 'China Travel' becomes a trending hashtag on overseas social media, Chengdu appears on almost every China travel list. This southwestern hub with over 21 million residents is both the hometown of Giant Panda and the first 'Food Capital' in Asia as recognized by UNESCO; it has a Ancient Shu Civilization that has neither changed its name nor moved for three thousand years, and comprehensive medical strength ranked among the top three in the country. For overseas travelers, Chengdu's appeal can be summed up in three words: Giant Panda, Food, and laid-back ease.
Must-see Chengdu
Giant Panda Breeding Research Base: the place closest to the 'national treasure' in the world. It is recommended to go when the park opens in the early morning, when you can see Giant Panda at their most active during feeding time.
Sanxingdui and Jinsha Site: the mysterious Ancient Shu Civilization astonishes the world with its bronze sacred trees and gold masks. The flame for the 2026 Chengdu World Games was taken from the Sanxingdui site — the Ancient Shu Civilization is being seen by the world in a new way.
Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng: built in 256 BC, the Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project still irrigates the Chengdu Plain today, and together with Mount Qingcheng is listed as a World Culture Heritage site.
Kuanzhai Alley and Jinli: drinking a bowl of Gaiwan Tea in Qing dynasty lanes, watching Sichuan Opera Face-changing and ear cleaning, is the most direct way to understand 'Chengdu-style life'.
Must-taste Chengdu
Chengdu's numbing spiciness starts with a meal of Hot Pot: a nine-grid beef tallow hotpot base, with fresh tripe dipped seven times up and eight times down. Besides Hot Pot, Mapo Tofu, twice-cooked pork, dan dan noodles, Zhong dumplings, egg-baked cakes and ice jelly make up the UNESCO-certified map of Food. What locals often call 'Hole-in-the-Wall Eatery' (unassuming little shops) often hide the most stunning flavors.
A new choice for medical travel
Chengdu also has the strongest medical resources in western China — West China Hospital of Sichuan University, whose comprehensive strength ranks firmly among the top three nationwide. In recent years, more and more overseas travelers combine a trip to Chengdu with dental implants, medical aesthetics, and health checkups: one trip that takes care of both medical treatment and Resort. This is also one of the reasons we have deep roots in Chengdu.
Coming to Chengdu is easier than you think
With China's unilateral visa-free policy expanded to 50 countries, the 240-hour transit visa-free policy covering 57 countries, and the dense international routes from Chengdu's Shuangliu and Tianfu international airports, the threshold for overseas visitors to come to Chengdu has dropped to its lowest in History. Just bring your passport, and leave the rest to a local guide who understands you.
