Wudang Mountain, about 4 hours by car from Wuhan, is the legendary home of Tai Chi and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This private day trip takes you up by cable car to the Golden Hall at the summit, then down to Nanyan Temple, built into a cliff face. Your guide will explain Taoist practices and the mountain's role in Chinese martial arts. It's a long day, but the scenery and cultural depth are worth it.

Wudang Mountain involves uphill walking and stairs at the summit — comfortable shoes are essential. Cable car may be suspended in high winds; in that case, we'll adjust the itinerary to lower-elevation temples and discuss alternatives with you.
