Ride the cable car to the sacred summit and walk the ancient steps of China's most revered mountain.
Mount Tai is China's most climbed sacred mountain, and this half-day private tour takes you straight to its spiritual summit without the crowds of a full-day hike. With your guide, you'll ride the cable car up to the Middle Heaven Gate, then walk the final stretch of stone steps past the South Heaven Gate to Jade Emperor Peak. Along the way, your guide will explain the mountain's role in imperial ceremonies and point out the most important inscriptions.
The cable car may be closed in high winds or heavy snow; in that case, the tour will adjust to a partial hike or visit to Dai Temple instead. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, and the summit is often cooler than the city, so bring a light jacket. This tour involves about 1.5 hours of walking on stone steps.
