Suzhou Night Canal & Old Town Street Food Walk

When the tour buses leave and the canals light up, Suzhou shows a different face. This 3-hour evening food walk takes you through the old streets and canal-side lanes where locals actually eat after dark. You'll sample freshly pan-fried shengjian bao, sweet red bean porridge, roasted chestnuts, and other seasonal snacks while your guide explains the city's night-time food culture. It's a relaxed, small-group experience that pairs eating with strolling — the way Suzhou people do it.

Sample itinerary

• 18:30 Meet your guide at Pingjiang Road metro station exit 3
• 18:45–19:30 First tasting stop: shengjian bao and soup dumplings at a local shop
• 19:30–20:15 Canal-side walk: cross stone bridges, hear stories of old Suzhou
• 20:15–21:00 Sweet porridge, roasted chestnuts, and seasonal snacks from street stalls
• 21:00–21:30 Final stroll along the illuminated canal and end at a central point

This is a walking tour covering about 2–3 km on flat ground. Please wear comfortable shoes. Food tastings are included, but additional drinks or snacks are at your own expense. Vegetarian options are limited; let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate.
