Mogao Caves tickets are time-slotted and sell out in peak season, so book several weeks ahead; A-type tickets include the films and normally allow 8 caves. Photography inside the caves is not permitted. Bring a light jacket in spring and autumn, as the cave area can be cooler and breezy.
