上午Your driver picks you up at the hotel in Chengdu and you head straight to Leshan. Start with the Buddha from the water: a cruise pulls the full 71-metre statue into one frame, its calm face carved into the cliff where three rivers meet.

下午Spend the rest of the day eating your way across Zhanggongqiao Food Street — sizzling snack stalls, sweet-skinned braised duck, tofu pudding drowned in chili oil.
